Registry of Common Goods

The Istanbul Index Official Manifesto & Operating Procedures

I. The Istanbul Philosophy

The Istanbul Index operates on the core belief that information and art are common goods. In the modern era, culture has been enclosed by digital fences-paywalls, regional locks, and subscription fatigue. We believe that once a work is released into the collective consciousness, it belongs to the people who find meaning in it, not just the corporations that hold the ledger.

The "Index" is not a store; it is a map. We do not host files; we index the world’s shared data. By providing a centralized, accessible gateway to media, we return the power of choice to the individual.

II. Formal Takedown & DMCA Process

The Istanbul Index is a passive directory of content hosted by third-party providers. We have no technical ability to delete content from the internet at large. however, we respect the administrative right to be removed from our search index.

III. User Safety & Integrity

The Index utilizes external streaming bridges to provide content. These bridges are often subsidized by aggressive advertising networks that do not align with our values.

MANDATORY USER ACTION: We strongly recommend the use of a robust Content Blocker (uBlock Origin) and a Privacy-focused browser. The Registry is not responsible for the predatory nature of external ad-servers. Protect your workstation.

V. Future Development

The Games Subsystem STATUS: PLANNED
Development is underway to integrate browser-based recreational software into the Registry. These will remain lightweight, ad-free, and focused on the core Istanbul aesthetic.
