The Istanbul Index Official Manifesto & Operating Procedures
The Istanbul Index operates on the core belief that information and art are common goods. In the modern era, culture has been enclosed by digital fences-paywalls, regional locks, and subscription fatigue. We believe that once a work is released into the collective consciousness, it belongs to the people who find meaning in it, not just the corporations that hold the ledger.
The "Index" is not a store; it is a map. We do not host files; we index the world’s shared data. By providing a centralized, accessible gateway to media, we return the power of choice to the individual.
The Istanbul Index is a passive directory of content hosted by third-party providers. We have no technical ability to delete content from the internet at large. however, we respect the administrative right to be removed from our search index.
The Index utilizes external streaming bridges to provide content. These bridges are often subsidized by aggressive advertising networks that do not align with our values.
Usage of the Istanbul Index is at the user's own risk. The Registry does not verify the legal status of indexed content in every jurisdiction. Users are encouraged to consult their local laws regarding the consumption of indexed media. The Registry of Common Goods exists for educational and archival purposes.
The Games Subsystem STATUS: PLANNED
